Which plan should the school choose?
Students use the article and a fictional planning brief to compare three proposals, check the requirements, and explain their recommendation.

What the reading mystery asks
Who solved the case? The reader with evidence.
Five passages on animal adaptations, informational and literature, each with a ten-question check across the five essential skills: main idea, key details, vocabulary in context, inference, and text evidence. Then a detective case file where numbered clues from the passages point to the answer.
